Reflections

Hey Girls,

Over the past couple of years I have gained more experience with technology than I have my whole life. I am in the process of getting a minor in technology through the education department which in turn has taught me alot. We've had the opportunity for an entire year to join a program called 'To The Bell and Beyond' where we went to several elementary schools and Bloomington North High School to teach technology to their students. This was a very grueling task but in the end it was very rewarding for both the students and I and we all learned so much from it. The technology that I have the best experience with are the following: powerpoint, word, excel, internet, google, email, audacity, garageband, cell phones, digital cameras and video cameras, educational software, frontpage, creating webpages, interactive whiteboard and many more. Although I have had lots of experience, there is still lots that is needed to be learned. During 'The Bell and Beyond' we focused more on the students learning software programs and the hardware and didn't really have much of a chance to implement other subjects into their technology activities. I would really like to learn more about manipulatives so I have a better insight on how technology is able to be intergrated into the curriculum more in my future classroom.
