Connections between manipulative's and ISTE Standards:
There are many connections between manipulative's and the ISTE standards. Some of the standards that apply: Students will demonstrate a sound understanding of the operation of technology systems, when they do manipulative's such as online games or to use the computer to research. Students will be able to develop a positive attitude about technology because they will enjoy using the games and different manipulatives that are found on the computer, and will therefore be more prone to develop lifelong learning on computers. Another standard that applies is using technology problem-solving and decision making tools. When playing online games to increase reading skills for instance, students will definitely have to make decisions and solve problems to win the game, so this standard applies also. These are just a few connections that seem to apply to the ISTE Standards, I'm sure many of the other ones work just as well.
